XDA Xtra from 1st Solution
If you are a small company then it may not be worth investing in your own server
equipment to run email. With this in mind 1st Solution now offer mailboxes on
our own servers which are compatible with the XDA IIs and your Outlook 2003
internet connected XP PCs. This gives you all the features of a big company mail
system without the need to have the IT skills to run it or the up front costs of
the server equipment.

If you already have an XDA IIs then we can
provide you with instructions for how to set it up to use the service or for a
small charge you can return the unit to us and we will configure it for you.
If you would like to use a PC or multiple PCs with the service the PCs will need
to meet the minimum requirements. These requirements are-
Windows XP Service Pack 2
Microsoft Outlook 2003 (which you may purchase from us if required)
Internet connectivity via dial up, broadband or O2 mobile data card
Your email address can be based on a domain name under your
ownership or as as part of our domain. i.e. your email can be in
the form of john@mycompany.com or one of our domains like
john@mycompany.o2xda.net. If you want to use your own domain then the pointers
for your email domain will need to be set to point at our mail servers.

Exchange Server 2003 has built-in mobile features
that are optimized for low-bandwidth and offline situations, and supports a
broad range of services to enable connection to your mailbox data whatever the
situation. The service from 1st Solution exploits these new services to provide
reliable access to your email from where-ever you are whatever your internet
connection options may be.

When you take
service from us we will configure your mailbox requirements on the server. You
are then issued with a digital security certificate which is used for the
encryption between you and your XDA IIs or PC. After a small amount of
configuration on your PC and/or XDA IIs the service setup is complete and
you can then access your mailbox.
